Large aluminium bi-fold doors opening a contemporary home to the garden
Bi-Fold Plus

Open the room. Not just the door.

A high-performance aluminium bi-fold system designed to open wide elevations, connect living spaces with the garden and keep the glazing clean and refined when closed.

Central section 110 mm
Maximum height Up to 3000 mm
Maximum sash weight Up to 120 kg
Glazing Up to 48 mm
Opening configurations

Fold the glazing around the way you live.

Bi-Fold Plus can be configured around the size of the opening, preferred traffic door position and whether the panels need to stack inside or outside the room.

01

Inward opening

Panels can fold into the room where the external patio, terrace or surrounding architecture needs to remain clear.

←
02

Outward opening

Folding the panels externally keeps more usable floor space inside and is a natural choice for many kitchen and living areas.

03

Single doors to 14-sash openings

The system can be configured as a single door or in configurations of up to 14 sashes, allowing much wider elevations to open as a coordinated system.

04

Open corners

A 90° corner configuration can be created without a fixed mullion, allowing two glazed elevations to open into one another.

90°
Think beyond panel count The best layout depends on what happens when the doors are open.

Furniture positions, traffic flow, patio space, opening direction and how frequently one door needs to be used independently should all influence the final configuration.

Why Bi-Fold Plus

Useful when the opening needs to disappear.

Sliding systems keep more glass in place. Bi-folds take a different approach: the panels stack away so a much larger proportion of the opening can be physically opened when the weather and space allow.

Inside / outside connection Open the elevation when you want it. Close it back into a high-performance glazed wall when you do not.
What it gives the project

Flexibility rather than one fixed opening.

Bi-Fold Plus works particularly well where the homeowner wants the option to change how open the room feels depending on the weather, occasion and way the space is being used.

01
Wide usable opening

Panels fold and stack away rather than leaving a large fixed pane permanently within the opening.

02
Everyday access

The final configuration can include a practical traffic door so the entire elevation does not need opening every time.

03
Flexible stacking

Inward and outward arrangements allow the panel stack to be positioned around the way the room and patio are used.

04
Corner possibilities

Suitable projects can use a 90° corner arrangement without a fixed mullion between the two elevations.

Specification

Built to open wide. Built to close properly.

A bi-fold door still has to operate as part of the external envelope when it is closed. Bi-Fold Plus uses a thermally broken aluminium construction and supports substantial glazing, panel sizes and weights.

Frame depth 80 mm

Aluminium frame depth for the Bi-Fold Plus system.

Thermal break 45 mm

Polyamide thermal separation within the aluminium profile.

Maximum glazing 48 mm

Supports substantial insulated glazing specifications.

Maximum width 1200 mm

Maximum stated sash width within the product data.

Panel layouts Up to 14

Allows larger multi-panel configurations where appropriate.

System detail

Substantial without becoming bulky.

The system balances the structural demands of large folding panels with a relatively restrained aluminium section and flexible glazing options.

Central section 110 mm
Maximum sash width 1200 mm
Maximum sash height 3000 mm
Maximum sash weight 120 kg

Project fit

Where Bi-Fold Plus works best.

Kitchen and living extensions

Useful where a large garden-facing elevation needs to open much wider during warmer weather.

Garden rooms

Particularly effective where the purpose of the room is to create a stronger physical connection with the garden.

Wider residential openings

Multi-panel arrangements provide flexibility where a simple single or double door would leave too much wall in place.

New build or renovation

The configuration can be developed around both new openings and existing buildings undergoing substantial alteration.

Final panel sizes, glazing, configuration and performance should be confirmed against the requirements and dimensions of the individual project.
